MESSIN

From Calabrbria one drives south to the tip of the boot of Italy, to Reggio, and take a car ferry across the straits of Messina, to the sprwling Sicilaian city of Messina, just north of Catania, another big city like Messina, only it has a big presence of the Mafia.  I skipped by Catalania, enroute to Toarmina (see that link), possibly the most beautiful city in Italy.
